SELECT, the Scottish trade body for the Electrical Industry have submitted a report to the Scottish Government entitled 'Electrician as a Profession - The Case for Regulation'.
It primarily aims to see the electrical industry properly regulated in law, and to put an end to poor workmanship often experienced, mainly in the domestic sector.
It makes good reading, and maybe, just maybe, could be the start of something good for the electrical installation industry in the UK as a whole if they succeed.
In the meantime we should all support this type of initiative, and promote it as much as possible through whatever channels we have available.
